Terms of Service

Last updated: [04/14/2026]

Plain-language summary

This app lets you tell your representative how you feel about bills Congress is considering. It's not an official ballot, and your votes here don't legally bind anyone. You need to verify a phone number to vote. One account per phone. Be civil in the forum. We can remove posts and ban users who break the rules. The app is in beta, so things might break.

What this app is

This app is a platform for constituents of the Texas 10th Congressional District to express their opinions on legislation before Congress and to see how their representative has voted. It is operated by [Maestrado Group LLC] as a civic engagement project.

By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

This is not an official vote

The “votes” you cast on bills through this app are expressions of opinion, not official votes. They have no legal effect on how your representative votes in Congress. They are not ballots. They do not replace registering to vote, contacting your representative directly, or participating in actual elections.

Your representative and their staff may or may not see the aggregate opinions expressed here. This app is not operated by, affiliated with, or endorsed by any government body or elected official.

Account rules

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the app.
  • You must verify a phone number you control. You may not verify a phone number that doesn't belong to you.
  • You may only have one account at a time. Do not attempt to circumvent this by using multiple phone numbers to cast multiple votes on the same bill.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password secure. If you think someone has accessed your account, contact us.
  • You must not impersonate another person or misrepresent yourself as a representative of any organization or government body.

Forum rules

The forum is a space for civil discussion of bills and political ideas. We disagree with each other — that's the whole point — but we expect everyone to disagree in good faith.

When using the forum, you must not:

  • Harass, threaten, dox, or intimidate other users, elected officials, or any other person.
  • Post hate speech targeting race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
  • Post content that is illegal, infringes copyright, or violates the rights of others.
  • Post spam, commercial solicitations, or irrelevant content.
  • Impersonate another person or claim to speak on behalf of an organization or official you are not affiliated with.
  • Post private information about another person without their consent.
  • Attempt to manipulate vote tallies or reaction counts through fake accounts, scripts, or coordinated campaigns.
  • Post deliberately false information about bills, elected officials, or the democratic process.

We reserve the right to remove any content and ban any user for violations, at our discretion. Enforcement decisions are final but we may be able to explain our reasoning if you ask.

Moderation

We moderate the forum ourselves and reserve the right to:

  • Remove posts or replies that violate these terms.
  • Temporarily or permanently ban users from posting in the forum. Banned users can still vote on bills.
  • Delete accounts in serious or repeated violation of these terms.

We try to be consistent and fair but we are a small operation. If you think a moderation decision was wrong, email us at [[email protected]] and we'll reconsider.

Content you post

You keep ownership of the content you post. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display your content on the app, share it within the forum, and include it in aggregate statistics (like “60% of constituents voted yes”). This license ends when you delete your account, except that aggregate statistics and posts linked to your phone hash may remain in anonymized form.

You are responsible for what you post. We don't endorse it and we don't verify it for accuracy.

This is a beta

The app is in beta. That means:

  • Things might break. We'll try to fix them quickly but we can't promise uptime.
  • Features may change, get removed, or be replaced without notice.
  • Data might occasionally be lost due to bugs or mistakes. Back up anything you can't afford to lose.
  • The app may shut down entirely if we decide to stop operating it. We'll give notice if we can.

No warranties

The app is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, secure, continuously available, or suitable for any particular use.

In particular, we do not guarantee that the summaries of bills, information about your representative, or vote tallies are accurate or complete. Always consult official sources (congress.gov, house.gov, senate.gov, and your representative's official website) before making decisions based on information you see on this app.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the app, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the app will not exceed one hundred US dollars ($100) or the amount you have paid us in the past twelve months, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from your violation of these terms, your violation of any law or the rights of a third party, or your content posted to the app.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [Texas] in the United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the app will be brought in the state or federal courts located in [Texas], and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app changes. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and notify active users through the app. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

Termination

You can stop using the app at any time by deleting your account. We can suspend or terminate your access at any time if you violate these terms or if we stop operating the app.
